Our practices

Dedication

At Tenstrike Community Church, we believe in the believer’s baptism. As such, we don’t baptize infants. However, we feel that children are gifts from God. Child dedications are a way for parents to thank the Lord for His incredible gift, commit to raising their child in the Christian faith. It is also a time for the church body to commit to help the child grow in Christ You can dedicate your child at any age; they don’t have to be an infant. 1 SAMUEL 1:27-28 / LUKE 2:22

Communion

TCC has an open communion. If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, no matter what Christian denomination you claim, you may take communion here. Communion is typically the last Sunday of the month. Communion is a way to remember and reflect on Christ’s sacrifice. In communion, the elements of wine and bread represent the shedding of Jesus’ blood, and the breaking of Jesus’ body. Matthew 26:26-28 / Acts 2:421 / Cor. 11:17-34

Small Groups

At Tenstrike Community Church we believe strongly in the building of relationships within the church family. The Christian life is meant to be lived in relationship with God and His people. We are all called to be active participants in God’s kingdom here on earth. We are called to encourage, support and love one another.  Small Groups are a great way to connect with God and each other. We desire to see each member of our body connected in a Small Group so they can be encouraged and also be an encouragement to others. Small Groups meet on a variety of days, times, and locations.

Water Baptism

Believer’s baptisms are a way to publicly proclaim faith in Jesus Christ. Biblically, water baptism was not the path to salvation, but a proclamation of belief. Matthew 3:13-17 / John 3:23/ Acts 8:36-39 / Acts 2:38

Prayer

Prayer is God’s way for us to speak to Him. Our church leaders and the congregation often pray for one another before, during, and after service. When we pray, we sometimes lay hands on the individual (or group) we are praying for. We also have prayer and intercession during the week, and everyone is welcome. 1 Thes 5:16-18 / Luke 18: 13-14 / Mark 11:25 / James 5:16

Baptism of the Holy Spirit

Through baptism of the Holy Spirit, He enters into our hearts to speak to us through his Living Word, empowers us to do work of the ministry, and helps us encourage the body. Matthew 3:11 / Acts 1:2-5 / Acts 1:8 / Acts 8:12-18 / Acts 9:17 / Acts 10:32-48 / Acts 15:7-8 / Acts 19:1-6

Worship

Our God is worthy of all praise! Tenstrike community Church uses various instruments for music during worship on Sundays or during any gathering, and we encourage outward expressions such as lifting hands, clapping, and dancing during worship. John 4:24 / Psalm 95:6 / Psalm 100

Tithes and Offerings

A good part of our worship is giving our tithes and offerings to God. At Tenstrike Community Church, we do pass an offering plate, but also have offering boxes located in the back of the sanctuary where you can give joyfully, privately, and obediently. You can also give by mail or online through PayPal, Venmo, or our website. Lev 27:30 / Deu 16:17 / Mal 3:10 / Pro 3:9 - 10 / 2 Cor 9:7
